OFFICIAL Language:

The national and official language for México is Spanish, however, there are over 60 languages and dialects spoken as an everyday language in many places.

Currency:

The official currency is the Peso Mexicano (Mexican peso) or plural pesos. Some resort cities accept U.S. Dollars. It is likely that you will pay more if you use U.S. Dollars rather than Pesos.

Mexico is tropical with two seasons and is known as the rainy and the dry season where the average temperatures don’t fluctuate much.

Mountains and areas above sea level: maybe cooler with lower humidity.

Hurricane Season:

June — November. Hurricanes and natural disasters can certainly ruin any vacation so always make sure to check weather reports before going to Mexico during this time. September and October seem to be the more active months for Hurricanes.

Getting Around:

Buses are the main transportation in Mexico. You can also get around by taxi, rental car, shuttle, motorcycle, bicycle, boat, or ferry.

How to dress:

Pack casual, lightweight cotton or blend fabrics that are comfortable. Bring good walking shoes for sightseeing, and flip-flops or sandals for the beach. Bring a sweater or light jacket for chilly evenings.
